Before booking a tour with pickup
Where exactly do the tours pick up?
At hotels and apartments in central Lisbon. Tour Sweet and SPR name the city centre, Lisbon Native anywhere in Lisbon, Around Lisbon adds the port and the airport, and the private tours reach Sintra and Cascais too. A street the van cannot enter gets a nearby point instead.
When do I learn the pickup time?
The evening before, by message or email: SPR between 20:00 and 20:30, the others the day before. Shared pickups run from 07:00 to 08:15 and the van loops through the city, so the first passengers wait longest. Private tours agree the hour with you.
Is the pickup included in the price?
Yes, on every tour here. Some operators elsewhere sell pickup as a paid option; they are not on this page. Two things can cost extra: airport pickup with some private operators, and a hotel outside the defined area.
Pickup or a meeting point?
Pickup saves the walk to a meeting point at 07:30 and finds your door again at 18:00. It also adds a loop through the city before departure. If your hotel is near Rossio or the Hard Rock Café, a meeting-point tour loses nothing and often costs less.
Going independently
No pickup? The train leaves from Rossio.
The return train from Rossio and an adult Essential ticket come to €25.10. Rossio station is in the centre, a walk from most hotels; trains leave every 30 minutes and take 40 minutes.
Bus 434 links Sintra station with the palace gate; the 434/435 pass costs €13.50 for 24 hours.
