Before choosing a tour
Which Pena ticket do these tours include?
The Essential ticket: the palace rooms, the terraces and the park. It is €20 when you buy it yourself. None of the eight includes the €45 Full Tour, which adds the private apartments.
Does the tour book the Pena time slot?
Yes. The operator holds tickets for the group’s slot, so you do not book one. Be at the meeting point on time: Pena admits nobody after the slot, and a late group loses its entry.
Rooms ticket or park ticket?
The rooms ticket covers the furnished palace, the terraces and the park. The park ticket covers the grounds and the outer terraces only. A tour that names the “park” or “gardens” ticket stops at the door of the rooms.
What if a tour says tickets are not included?
You pay at the gate or through the guide on the day. On the dates we checked, the 09:30 slot was sold out on 9 of 10 ?, so a morning tour without a ticket can find the rooms full. The eight tours here remove that risk.

Only the ticket? Buy it yourself.
The return train from Rossio and an adult Essential ticket come to €25.10 before transport up the hill. Pena sells timed slots every 30 minutes from 09:30 to 17:30. On the ten dates we checked, the 09:30 slot was sold out on nine ?.
Book the slot online and take the train that arrives an hour before it. Bus 434 links the station with the palace gate; the 434/435 pass costs €13.50 for 24 hours.
